Hi,

Does CGI using a media streaming protocol?

The reason I ask is that work asked me nicely to refrain from media streaming as it's not work related. The only sites I really visit are MyADSL and a CGI chat program. Could it pick up CGI as media streaming?

I had this issue a very long time ago trying to access Jawug's cgi chat... Turns out it was something related to streaming protocol of some kind not supported by the company firewall....

Ryder ... Jawug uses IRC - the cgi is just an irc client. You still need port 6667 open to connect.

Yes, as I said, this was a very long time ago (3 years or so) - we had the cgi setup to run on port 443, but it did not work (due to the firewall not supporting / blocking streaming cgi)

That was when I learned all about nice ssh tunnels, and getting through company firewalls!
But I can confirm that some firewalls do seem to have an issue with it!
