What I liked with Medi Help is that for the same price as the other Hospital Schemes, you also a little bit of day-to-day cover thrown in there. Their network of Hospitals seems decent. For instance, in CPT, I would opt for Christian Barnard or Vincent Palotti (Which is on there). They also cover all the major surgeries like joints, back, spinal etc... Co-Payments for things like MRI's, CT Scans etc seem pretty fair. Looks like a win win for me. They don't have "Vitality" like Discovery does but they do have a smaller version of it for some basic things. At the end of the day, I'm more concerned about my health bills being covered than "nice to have" things so MediHelp seems a good fit for what I'm looking for. Plan I'm looking at is R1,488pm

Have you claimed for any major procedures or hospitalization when you were with MediHelp?

Yep, had to be admitted to hospital twice. Was on the dimension 3 plan.

Never even needed to claim from gap. But ofc gap cover is still a must have.

And you still need preauthorisation if it's not an emergency...
