Not dead bodies :D

I inject myself on a daily basis. Where does the needles go? Hospital? Doctor?

Just take it to the hospital. That is the easiest way to get rid of it

... and we care about you ... please see someone about your addiction ... ;)

:D thank you. So I can just go ask them?

We use them for Vitamin B and B complex every second day. I also have a hormone injection I have to use. Daily.

I am disposing them at the work clinic currently but will not working here for much longer.

I don't think druggies care about where they dump theirs. IMO.

Used to take all the used syringes and needles that we found around sea point to the pharmacy. They were happy to dispose of them properly for us.

Go to a clicks or dischem that has a nurse's station. Though people might reject you because its very expensive to dispose of the stuff. If thats the case take it to a government clinic they will do the disposal. Usually people just put em in the bin when they use them at home, wrong yes.

If you going to end up doing that just soak the needles in some alcohol and then throw them away in the trash. Though I must ask when you say vitB do you mean b12 ? and why are you taking B12 and Bco every second day that seems a bit much

Well I'd start with tearing the doctor in question a new one...how the hell can he issue you needles without covering this?

A Lancet / Ampath / Discovery lab (i.e. +- any pathology lab in a private hospital) definitely has a channel to dispose of this stuff. I don't think they officially support ppl bringing their stuff...but they are reasonable people & it won't take much to convince them. Kinda like you can take expired meds to a pharmacy...they don't official offer it as a service but again - they are pretty reasonable. Nobody wants random meds landing on a trashheap to be found by some hobo so the pharma staff will rather include it into their outgoing disposals. Minimal costs & much hassle for society saved.

Also...I agree with Ria on the Vit B...even to my decided layman's understand something there sounds seriously dodge. Better check it out. On the plus side vit b is water soluble so the chances of serious damage is reduced. Better check it anyway though.

They supposed to go in a "sharps container" and then disposed of correctly, if you don't have one, you can contact Sold Waste Technologies Pty Ltd on (Cape Town) 021 5569167 or JHB on 016132091.

The container is a big yellow container with red writing on.

The bins behind any gynaecologist, but wear nose-plugs because the stuff in there will make you hurl.

If you have a place to dispose of them then fine but otherwise don't worry. It's only official waste that must be disposed of properly by law. What you can do though is to take a strong container, seal it and make a small hole in the top or an X cutout. After it's full you can tape it up properly and make sure it's unidentifiable and inconspicuous so people won't be messing around with it. After this it's usually safe to just throw in the thrash until some day when our descendants have to incinerate all our trash anyway, or at least safer than all the people just throwing their open needles in the trash. If you take it somewhere for proper disposal though you can just skip the last step. It usually takes years to fill up so won't be much of a problem either way.
