Medium term budget thread

Well it is if you expect it to do anything for the person.... if it makes you personally feel better, then its fine really. Pointless but fine.
I reckon it makes her feel better when she gets some clicks. I wouldn't know for sure but it is fairly good surmise.

It probably makes her feel better that some idiots agree with her point of view... because of course nobody who actually has a clue agrees.

Something interesting I saw debated though was the whole thing about whether austerity is the right thing to do in a consumption based economy.. Ie if gov stops spending, doesn’t the gdp then shrink drastically making it worse.

RAMAPHOSA: GOVT DOESN’T NEED TO CUT DOWN ITS WORKFORCE
JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa on Thursday told Parliament that government did not need to cut down its workforce because of the high public wage bill.

He said the government needed to do the opposite and employ more in some sectors where there was a shortage of staff.

Ramaphosa was responding to questions in the National Assembly where he was quizzed about the country’s struggling economy.

If you can borrow at 1% to get 2% growth, then more spending is a good idea. If you borrow at 3% to get 0.5% growth, then it's a terrible idea.

what time do we hear from Moody's today?

From what I can recall, it's usually in the late afternoon or early evening SA time, but there is no definite set time. It could be while you're sleeping as it is usually announced during the US business day.
