Mega Hands On... Who's signing up?

Woah! that is cheap for 4TB ($40 and 4TB traffic) of encrypted data storage, i think i am going to go with that and not buy anymore drives for a long while :D.
 
I wonder how reliable the service will be, I mean it sounds like a great way to keep backups but if the service falls over due to abuse I doubt you'll see your data again.
 
I'll stick to using my home server. I don't trust these online storage sites. The only thing I use is dropbox and that's just to transfer files between my phone and my PC. Raid 6 and you're sorted.

Seems 50Gb free storage is the standard now. First box then mediafire and now mega.
 
Well it's 50GB free , might as well try it. I like the whole encryption thing they are doing. It implies you will need to share a public key with the download link. It'll definitely make life quite hard for anyone to intercept or even determine what exactly is stored on there. I suppose it means it won't be searchable either, but i suspect indexers will prop up eventually with the public keys etc.

Anyway, seems Mega is going live in 2 hours from now (8pm our time).
