Hi there,

Does anyone know a software can check the failure of memory ram? My computer has blue screen problems, thought about the Ram. Just want to make sure it is Ram's problem

I get check peoples pc's for faulty memory a lot and i can tell you that if you run memtest and get even 1 error, then that ram is faulty.
I have alot of beautiful but f*$# ram lying in my drawer.
As for 24 hours im not certain, but an error is an error.

Are you saying that once I got an error, then I don't need anymore test? Do I need to investigate what type of error is and figure out a way to fix?

If you have an error, then you have a memory problem and you cannot fix faulty memory[only in humans, must eat more fish].

Very very rarely the ram chips could be switched around by you if you have ram with different timings and you could sort it manually but again it highly unlikely as your bios sets the best default values.
Besides, memtest will show up more then 1 error anyways the longer the test runs, its only gonna consume extra power and ridicule your faulty memory until you yank that rotten and probably crispy chipset out.

If you do not have a memory problem then keep posting until one of us gives you the advice you need to sort your prob.

Thanks Demon angel,

Please have a look at the photos I shut while I run Memtest. Can you tell me the blue screen is because of the Ram.

Hi, did not link them correctly.
I have just run the test for about half hour. Does the programme give a result?
The photos may show the results

Im afraid you do indeed have faulty memory.
Im not exactly sure which stick is faulty so remove one stick.
And run the test again for 10mins or until it produces an error.
If the test passes or fails, you will know which one is bad.

I feel for you Attuu, it happened to me 3 months ago.

I only have one ram, which is Kingston 2g ddr2 800.
While I am busy reply to you, the blue screen happened twice. I am so irritated about this.

I don't mind to buy a new ram, but just want to make sure it's ram's faulty, other than motherboard / hard drive

How did you resolve your problem, Demon?

I will post a blue screen, see if you can tell something about it.Thanks

I replaced my ram.
My problem was then solved instantly.
Memory tester already diagnosed your problem and i will bet my life that your ram is faulty.

You could try switching the RAM to another slot. In the highly unlikely event that it's a slot on your mobo you should be sorted. However, I am with demon here. You need some new RAM there.
