Memory issues/lack of concentration.

Exercise.
Eat whole foods.
Keep the cannabis for the weekends.
Get sleep and don't use devices right until you get into bed.

Beyond that you can look at things like:
Gotu Kola
Bacopa
Holy Basil
Lions Mane Mushroom
etc.

but I doubt you'll get the immediate results you seek from those. Best just to incorportate a wide range of herbs and spices into your diet. And I wouldn't bother down the nootropics rabbit hole with things like piracetam etc.
I would never be able to finish a whole pig on Tuesdays let alone a cow on Wednesdays. Thursday fish night I could manage but I'll need to stay away from tuna and other larger fish.
OMF what about boereworse which has cow and pig in it......... Friday's are also fvcked now.

I spy with my little eye :D

How?

Good day gals/guys

For the last few years my memory has been absolutely appalling.

So I have extremely weak memory capacity. I can't even remember life changing events, like the day my children were born. My wedding day.

I struggle to even remember what I did an hour ago or yesterday.

I'm surprised I can even remember how to get to the office.

So, does anybody know what could be causing this situation?
Any recommendations on who I might be able to see to get a diagnosis of sorts?
Any advice would help.

I don't see how that helps me?
He clearly remembers fkall. I remember, albeit when some time passes.
I forget what I'm talking about (short term loss). I don't remember to do certain things. (without procrastination).
My long term memory is stuffed. I only remember when people start talking.

It is not my job to make you decide what helps and doesn't help. Go to a freaking doctor then. If you only want advice that you think will help you, you are in the wrong place. Take what you want to keep, and ignore the rest. Sheesh...

There's specific meds that helped me (psychological), but due to finances I haven't been able to afford it for a few years (cost was a couple of 1000 per month).

Care you say what you're being treated for? Context would help.

Failing that, one thing you might ask your doctor about is sleap apnea. The long and short of is that some of us (particularly men, and especially overweight men) suffer from some breathing obstruction during sleep. For some it's the tongue, for some it's the throat, for some it's nurological.

You stop breathing, and once your brain senses danger it wakes you engough to gasp and get your breathing going again. You don't wake up to consciousness though, so it's possible to never be aware this is happening. The side effect is feeling like you didn't get enough sleep, bad memory, poor concentration, dificulty multitasking, etc.

Knew someone that had something like this. Turns out their testosterone levels was a bit low. So maybe look at that too?

Wow. I think you on your high horse is falling.
Where did I ask that you specifically give me advice?
Where in this thread did I request that only certain advice is what I'm looking for?
Why do you act like a 5 year old when I disagree with the the link you posted or anything I post.
There are different ways of managing memory loss. Are you the de facto authority about threads and what I may discuss or not?

You have no authority over me. Prick

I suffer from bipolar disorder.
I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine.

The memory loss and concentration is not better though.

You're not gonna feel any better with natural remedies then dude. I'm pretty sure that it's covered a PMB by medical aids, so maybe investigate that. Probably you'll find that you need be diagnosed by a psychiatrist or something and only then will they cover it as a chronic condition. Make the effort and get it fixed, you shouldn't be paying for meds for this if you have medical aid.

If you don't have medical, maybe weigh up the costs of the medicine vs something entry level that covers this and more.

Look after yourself dude, I have family members that have it, and I also had family members that had it, that has since offed themselves due to it...

Stupid question, but if you take meds is it organised in such a way that your memory loss don't make you take stuff between supposed times-?

@|tera| How often do you smoke weed?
Well...

*IF* (I'm not saying you are but *IF*) you're smoking herb every day or very regularly - that's probably the first thing I'd consider. Because being on meds and herb is already a lot of stuff happening to your mind. If herb helps you through the day but double-edge sword-cuts your memory - then u gotta make a choice between being high every day & your memory takes a hit, or chill on the weed and see if your brain work better.

I'm not saying weed is the problem. But run the experiment for a month and see? Not even suggesting you stop smoking. Just keep it to the weekends.

Improving your memory isn't a pill. It's a decision to try things that are gonna take some effort and doing things different.
