Memory Problems?

yup. 039 for intel DH55TC. New chipset drivers, everything is updated. Been stable now though since the chipset update. But then again, it randomly shuts down. could be a few days, or a few times in a day.

So it is an Intel motherboard?

I've got an Intel motherboard, it's also unstable if I manually set the RAM timings, leave it at SPD.

It has been.....only messed around to see what happens. And well.......instant failure on intelburntest. So reverted back to auto.....still random crashes.

If its failing on manual mem settings that pretty much means its the memory... unless you got the timings set too tight. Are you 100% sure you got the timings set correctly? One wrong setting, and that could explain why its crashing.

When its on auto, there is a flippin good chance the timings are very relaxed, which could explain the random crashes (ppotentially).

Dude dont you have other memory you can stick in there? That would be my first port of call.... Or if you have two sticks in, at least take one out and run it like that

Do a hardware clean boot to isolate which device is causing the issue. For doing hardware clean boot do the following steps

a) Unplug all the external Devices

b) Start the System in Safe mode. (Pressing the F8 key while the computer restarts)

c) Go to Device manger

Device that can be disabled for doing a Hardware clean boot are

1. Video Cards

2. Sound Card

3. Network Card

4. USB Devices and controller (Please don’t do this if you are using USB keyboard or Mouse or Wireless Keyboard or mouse)

5. CD and DVD

6. Modems

7. Ports (serial and parallel)

After doing this if you are able to Boot in Normal Mode try to enable the device one by one and check out which device is causing the issue .Try to install the latest driver for that device or contact the hardware vendor.

Browsing windows explorer........restart. Latest BSOD debug states the ntkrnlpa.exe is the faulting module. Googled that...........it can be ANYTHING. Finding it weird that its a different message each time. Unfortunately I don't have any RAM to swop and diagnose.......but it seems it isn't the memory.

dude where are you based??

Im willing to put my head on a chopping block to say its memory. I dont give a stuff what memtest says... srsly!

I am in Jhb south hey. I am also headed towards memory man. I have this cheap Dynex in there. Doesnt even show in google. lol. Wonder if its some conflict with windows, but not an actual error on the chip?

dude Ive been down this road.. srsly... and eventually you gonna feel like you chasing you tail because you never REALLY know if whatever tool you testing with is 100% spot on.

I would help you out, but Im in CPT. Find a mate, or someone on this forum with a spare stick of RAM that you can pop in. Use it for a day or two.. If the problem is gone, bob's your uncle, if not... Then you can SAFELY scratch memory off the list and move on.

:)

So.....an update. After performing test after test after test I have solved my problem. My audio drivers are fighting each other. I have four NVIDEA high definition and one realtek high definition. Once I disable the NVIDEA........no problem this whole weekend. Its beautiful. Once I disable the realtek......thw NVIDEA don't take preference though.......pc is silent. But honestly...........I can deal with that.

Let me send out a huge thanks to you all that tried to help troubleshoot this. It was frustrating to say the least....but is now solved.......
