Hi Guys.

Just want to find out something.
I'm currently running Corsair Twin2X 2048 (2 x 1024) DDR2 800 CL4 in my PC.
Will there be problems if I add an extra 2 x 512MB Team Dark Ram DDR2 800 CL5 to the mix? Will it cause instability or any problems?
Is it bad to run something like this 2 x 1024 + 2 x 512?

Regards

Itai

All are the same speed so there shouldn't any problems. Just keep the 1gb ones in slots 1 and 2 and the 512 mb ones in slots 3 and 4.

Actually you should mach up the RAM to the "channels". If your mobo has colour coded memory slots, I think most do now, put the same memory in the same colour slot. Normally you would match up 1 to 3 and 2 to 4. Otherwise your RAM wont run in dual channel mode.

Could only cause a hassle if you are oc'ing, just leave the memory timings in the bios on auto and you will be fine.

p.s. work more in the day and sleep more at night :)

Cool thanks guys ... how can I work more in the day when I got load shed from 6 - 10

Ha ha :p ... not with my iburst I can't .... cause I'm still offline. Hmmm ... maybe that neotel modem has its advantages ... come on ethernet designer people ... hurry up

+1
Same ram in same coloured channels then set everything to auto and it should be stable but run memtest+ just to be sure.

I use a laptop now, and previous pc only had 2 RAM slots:o.
