'Memory stick'

Gents,

Why, if I try to open the memory stick, do I get a message ""access denied" or something to do with the "path" ???????

I am about to take a hammer to the laptop.
 
May be a virus...

Take it out of that USB port and stick it in another and try again, browse "My Computer" and open it from there ;)
 
on a similiar note, i have a 1g mp4 player with a 2g memory card in but the memory card does not show up on the actual player but does show up on my pc if i plug it in. could it be the memory of either one of the cards being to full? it happened once before but then after some playing around with it i got it to work but now i dont know what i did.

The memory card might not be compatible with the mp4 player? Is it working now or not? Could be a setting too..

Not sure about mp4 players, but my camera was limited to 1gig memory cards, nothing bigger. When I used a 2gig, it gave an error. Sure you used that memory card on that player?
 
yip it works/ed fine but i keep adding videos and songs so i think there might not be enough memory to open the memory card.

its always worked fine but like i said i keep adding stuff, surely you need some free memory to run the card or something.

Doubt it, I don't have that issue on my cellphone with a memory card, so don't think the mp4 player is different ;)
 
oh ok i think what i should do is copy everything to my pc and add them back on to my mp4 till it stops working to see if it is a memory thing.

Viruses. What ****er has nothing better to do than invent viruses? God! People need hobbies so they do not come up with this crap.
