Men's shirts

I'm similarly stuck buying shirts from Woolies, Edgars and recently found a few half-decent smart casual cotton shirts in Makro's clothing dept. With the way that Woolworths' quality has slipped, there's not much difference.

odd, i have found woolworths to have the better quality stuff...especially chino's

They used to, but I've been disappointed with the stitching quality on their clothing in the past 2 years

I buy from Edgars, but only because I have an account there. It always seems like when I decide to go do shopping for work clothes, that they seem to have noting of interest....only dull stuff.
Then you walk in there to go buy something else or with someone else....not wanting to buy anything....then they seem to have cool stuff and you think to yourself "cool, I must come and buy me some new clothes soon".

Truworths has nice trendy stuff, but pricey. I don't like the idea of spending R300+ just on a shirt. And I'm not opening another account.

Mr. Price. You just have to buy often but at R40 a shirt you have new cloths every 2 months :D

I went in there, and they had just about no men's short-sleeved shirts, or just not nice stuff.

Ended up buying from Stuttafords (Ben Sherman) and Queenspark.

Somehow I knew you were gonna mention the plaza :)

Not at all fond of shopping there.

Thanks for helping though.

Its not so bad... and you like an Indian wannabe no?
Just ignore the Pakis :p

My 2c:

My wife buys my stuff.

For regular shirts - work wear: Woolies are the best. They stock in different collar sizes whcih is nice.
Evening wear: SHe gets my stuff from Markhams. I like their 'slim fit' shirts. My beer belly is not as noticable when I wear those ones.

If all else fails she get my stuff at Stuttafords in Menlyn. They are kinda pricey but they stock the nice stuff there.

We do not shop at Queenspark - they overcharge for cheap Chinese crap that you can buy from Mr Price.

Same here. I could not let my husband shop for his own work clothing. Who knows what he will emerge with :)

To be honest, I did not see any nice work shirts (short sleeved) in Woolworths so far this year. Ugly! Same goes for Markhams ... there is nothing of note in there.

I am sure you ware aware that a lot of clothing comes from China. So you may pull up your nose, but even stores you buy from probably source it from there.
