Long story short I paid with my credit card using payfast, but SLServices/4home only refunded 1034.60 and it should have been 1070.30.

When I queried this payfast just ended the conversation with they contacted the merchant and that 1034.60 was correct. However, and of course, when I look at the invoice it still is 1070.30 which I paid in full. I suppose that the 35.70 was the service fee for using a credit card?

We use Payfast and if we issue a refund that initial fee they charge us gets reversed as well and they charge you a small reversal fee i think its R5 or something. I checked now and on the base price model a R990 credit card transaction was R38.73 in fees

Not a $ transaction involved? Merchant will reverse their currency I assume.

It was zar to zar afaik. Unless they show zar but charge for what they think they might pay when ordering stock.
nah then you should get the full amount, I've never had that issue when claiming a reverse or charge back. Only if a currency conversion exists there can be a knock or benefit but often the payment provider seemed to just give the exact amount.

Their fees with payfast should be their problem, they shouldn't charge you as a customer.
