Messed Up Sleep Cycle

My sleep cycle has gone to wtf

First Phase
'normal' january to early may ish
felt sleepy around 9/10pm but stayed awake,by 00:00 it had left
sleep from 00:00 to 08:00,slept pretty well,felt alright in the mornings

Second Phase
early May ish to end of may
stay up all night then sleep
08:00 or 09:00 till 15:00 or 16:00,sleep was not bad,felt slightly hungover for a few mins after waking up

Third Phase
may to now
Go to sleep at 9/10pm when I feel sleepy
wake up at 02:00,stay up till 04:00(like now) then sleep from 04:00 till 12:00
wake up feeling okay
 
I'm also having your third phase problem, But my problem is I have to wake up at 5:30 for work :mad:
 
I work shifts, so very erratic. I try to keep my circadian rhythm as regular as I can.

Morning shift I start at 5h30, so wake up at 4h15. I try to avoid more than 3 of these in a row, as they screw everything up.

Afternoon shift I start at 1. I wake up at 7h30 every day and go to gym most days.

Night shift starts at 8pm till 6am, so again, up at 7h30am every time. If i get to work first and sleep second, then i work 9 till 2, then sleep in the rest room beyond the end of my shift until 7h30am, just to keep everything in sync.

I have slowly trained my body to wake up at 7h30 and never wake up feeling over-tired. This only happens when I sleep too little or too much. Also, I have an ascending alarm tone with a nice chilled song. This way, I don't really feel the need to turn it off immediately. I will often listen to the whole song before I turn it off. And the android alarm puzzle just ensures I actually wake up.
 
Heard that if you masturbate before going to bed, it will guarantee that you get a good night's sleep. Try it.

Use melatonin to regulate your sleep cycle.

I've read many of the research papers involved with melatonin, and there are no adverse side effects[SUP]1[/SUP]. Use a much lower dose than you get in the tablets. I split the 3mg tablets into eighths/fourths.

[SUP]1[/SUP]Caveat emptor, do your own research and make sure you are comfortable with the upside/downside.
