Messi Never Dives?

had heated arguements about him not diving so I thought I'd throw it out there and add to the whole Barca players who dives :D

every player dives, its a given fact about soccer but Messi does do it alot less imo. His barca team mates are absolutely terrible, they should all be fined because they are diving #%^#!%.
I've seen Messi get taken out properly just to get back up again and go for the ball, even if some one attempts to take him out he would rather jump over to try score then go down. Last night prime example.

Those videos are from 2009 and 2010 :/

There is plenty of evidence of strikers diving. Most of them do it. Messi has plenty of chances to go down, but more often than not skips past players and goes on to score anyway. Have to agree with poffle.

The Barca play acting is what gets to me. The rolling around on the ground as if you've just broken your leg only to get up and sprint flat out the moment a yellow/red card is given.

Much less of that in the EPL and one of the main reasons why I prefer watching it over other leagues.

Every football player have taken their fair share of dives but the Latin Players turned it into an art.

I think we should rather say that Messi "hardly ever" dives. I hate Barca for their simulation and its easy to say that he's a part of the team so he dives but I think its more like what poffle says it is..that every player dives every now and then - and Messi falls into that category. I've seen him diving and winning free kicks - but I've also see guys try to scythe the boy down and him continue to run on with the ball - very very few players do that!!

Very True....Messi is one player that actually stays on his feet if he can

Even last night when Alonso came sliding on and clipped his feet, he rode the challenge and went on to take his shot - I couldnt see any other player staying on his feet in that situation

Remember Suarez recently... ( he is a known cheat ) well he was in the box, had contact with the opposing defender, rode the tackle and scuffed his shot wide.

Was rather suprising....but it happens....Messi included.

Cant remember that but its good if it happens

Messi hardly ever dives because he backs himself to score.

Come now dear dbecks, aren't we forgetting a certain Didier Drogba?? :D

Its called in-the-boxilitus. He was treated for it, but it flares up now and then. :D
Highly dangerous disease this, heard it started somewhere in Italy a while back! It seems the whole Barca team have caught it from Cristiano at last seasons el clasico - its spread across the whole team now, for some of them it seems terminal :p

Well watching Messi against Madrid impressed me! While his teammates where joining the local theatre, he kept running at the defenders and taking the hits. Barca players could learn something from him.

Agreed usually... but he dived that last game. At least once that I remember...
