MetaMask and Binance and Eth transfer

Hi Guys, I transferred Eth from Binance on their Bep20 chain not knowing that Bep20 and ERC20 is not the same chains - really stupid now that I have realized it and that it has been explained, but not that obvious on the Binance site. So my Eth is sitting in Bep20 on the same address I hold on ERC20.
Binance support suggested I download and install MetaMask and by doing this I will be able to retrieve the Eth on the Bep20 Chain, that was meant to be on my address on the ERC20 chain.
I am new to Crypto and this all seems a bit Greek to me. I reside in the Southern Cape and am looking for someone who can assist either by vide call or that can take me through the MetaMask principles and why Binance is suggesting this to retrieve the Eth.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi did you get this sorted. I watched that video but still showing zero where I added ETH to the BSCN that I added to metamask? Please help if you can I am stuck

Do u own the private keys for the receiving wallet u sent to? That's the only way to get it back via the metamask method

Yes theres no issue I can see the coin in metamask they show on the ledger, issue now is that when I try return them it says not enough ETH (I assume that ins fact it is using BNB since the coins are on the BNC chain) even though I added BNB to the wallet

You have your metamask on the new chain right? Ur correct in saying that u need BNB on that chain to act as gas. It needs to be sent to the same ether address u own on the main net ether chain but making sure ur on bep20
