The game itself may not use all cores, but I read a article of tri sli GTX480 vs tri xfire HD5870. They ran it with a quad i7 CPU, and then switched to the new i7 hex core and got more fps (10-20% more). Seems that for more than 1 GPU there is alot of extra work that needs to be done by the CPU

See my understanding may be very wrong but let's say a game only makes use of 3 cores and no more, how would the other 3 cores work if the game does not support it?

The other cores would run some background tasks (windows stuff), and if I'm not mistaken take care of the loads on other components such as GPU's, sound cards etc. The 3 cores the game uses is mostly used on AI and physics.

I also had enough with this bad framerate in BC2. I've got an 8800GT atm and I'm averaging 25-30 fps online. It can dip into the single digits in heavy action scenes. I also noticed the worst performance is on Arica harbour and that daylight snow map. I'm picking up my 5850 on Friday.

Ya have you changed your settings.ini file, turned off bloom and hsao?

killa, when editing the ini file, do you have to save it as read only???? can you change everything you want in the ini file???

Jip, performance is still terrible. I get good fps (35-55) on the grassy maps but those snow maps and dusty Arica harbour just kills my card.

I put read only on because for some reason it keeps turning bloom back on.

ran Crysis last night, everything on high @ 1680x1050, got 60 - 65FPS avg....not bad....Very high it drops to 35-45avg... is Metro more demanding than Crysis???
