Metro cop director calls Bees 'a monster'

Ancestors will be called on to haunt the alleged murderer of Johannes Mtshumane Mogale, executive director of policing Ndumiso Jaca said at the memorial service in Pretoria on Thursday.

Addressing a packed gathering of family members and fellow metro police officers, Jaca said Blue Bulls rugby player -- Jacobus Stephanus "Bees" Roux -- arrested for Mogale's murder -- "would not rest".

"Let's call on the fallen members of the department to go and man the road blocks and ensure Bees doesn't rest."

Roux was arrested last Friday after he had allegedly been pulled over by Mogale for drunken driving.

Shortly after, Mogale's beaten body was found by two other patrol officers.


"Let's call on our ancestors, lets ensure we hound Bees until he tells the truth," he said to angry shouts of agreement.

"Bees is a monster, he is a beast murdering my member with his own hands. He's huge, he's a monster," said Jaco.

Speaking later municipal mayoral commissioner Dikeledi Lehobye said it was painful to imagine that a person could be "murdered with bare hands, on the hard surface of the tarmac".

She agreed that the murder diabolical and barbaric.

"I have to admit that I am deeply touched by this incident and very very angry. I am angry at behaviour worse than that of wild animals."

Luckely all these farm murders are civilized. I don't see these people get all upset about the brutality of all the farm murder victims (getting burned with iron's, fingers getting cut off, babies getting raped)

However Lehobye appealed to officers to let the law run its course.

"Out of respect for the family, wife and children let us desist from making careless and hurtful speculation."

Throughout the memorial service Mogale's wife Margarette softly cried into a white and reddish handkerchief with a relative sitting next to her, never taking her arm off the grieving widow's shoulder. - Sapa

So where was I, that i missed our courts finding Bees guilty??? did i miss something? Funny how the 'innocent until proven guilty" and "allegedly" are absent...

Perhaps the director would like to tell us where the other two officers were and why Mogale wasn't following procedure.
 
He should be refraining from comment until the trial. Especially with the current irregularities.

one would think on orientation day for his new job, someone would have told him to "shut it" when in official capacity...

our Metro cops director is an idiot, our rugby coach is an idiot, our president is an idiot, our youth leader is an idiot.

Its a shame i finished school and went to Varsity, and did honours and doing masters. I'm increasingly reducing my chances of being "someone" in this country. Can't believe education can put you at such a disadvantage....

From what I understand, the accused did not deny killing the cop. He has some dim-witted defence.
 
they calling upon their ancestors...........sorry i can't help *falling off my chair laughing and waiting for the smoke signals*. didn't realise we are still living in the age where people are still believing in such carp.

absolutely agree with you, BUT don't you think the director of Metro Cops should not play judge, jury and executioner here? You would think that in his line of work, he would be required to know HOW THE LAW WORKS.

If the courts decide that it was murder, then sure, lock him up and throw away the key.

You mean if it was self defense? Or which report are you referring to? How dare someone defend their life with lethal force... how dare they. Of course, this is pure speculation based on what is in the media.

yeah, i assume she's talking about if he the reports that he murdered the cop is true... but again, at this stage, EVERYTHING is speculation.

Except for bludgeoned cop's grieving family, which seems to be discounted because they're not white farmers for some reason.

I did express that sentiment in another thread. In your official capacity, you simply execute the law or the policy of the government. You do not give your personal opinion. EVER.

He didn't see the events leading up to Bees and the cop falling out of the car. I'm pretty sure whatever happened up to that point is pertinent.
