I've been on fibre for almost 2 months with FireStream and MetroFibre in Sunninghill.

Since I've signed up, I've been disconnected 3 times, for a week each time. This week is the second week in a row. Fibre got fixed on Friday, Monday I was down again. In the almost 8 weeks I've been subscribed, I've been down 3 now - but the invoice arrives on time!

What I was told by one of the contractors is that when they come out, they fix the line with problem but may, in the process, break another one.

Is this normal with fibre? Is it that fragile? Also, don't MetroFibre contractors work to some kind of standard? Surely you can't affect other line when fixing one.

Generally doesn't happen to be honest, so might just take some time for them to resolve properly. I would say just keep at it but make sure your ISP makes them aware of the amount of breaks. Because often each break is treated independently and so not treated with urgency (multiple contractors)
