Metrofibre Open Access waiting period

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how long I have to wait for fibre to become open access?

TITC installed fibre in our estate, on the Metrofibre network. Who can I contact to know when this will be open access?

I'd rather not go with TITC as my ISP, so far their service has is pretty bad and it takes forever to get a response from them. Also, their prices seem high as well.

When I was in your boat I contacted the ISP I wanted to go with - Home-Connect. Asked them if they can find out when my estate will be open access, they contacted Metrofibre and got a date for me.

3 months from installation, which is just a way for MFN to force people into signing up with them or their resellers. Your body corporate should have insisted they go open access from day 1.

Yeah it's not great for you guys but it's great for the customer when you discover the loophole in their system.

Yeah bit of a bummer. But 3 months also not the end of the world. And it is month to month. No 24 month contracts. Apparently the chairman has to sign off before it is "live" and then 3 months before it is open access. We have had Openserve Fibre for 2 years. Been happy with Openserve, but yeah. MFN is much cheaper for faster!

What you can alternatively do is wait the 3 months out and then just go with the ISP on your choice that’s what I did

I did contact Cool Idea, Rocketnet, Firestream as well as Home-Connect. They could only tell me that it is not open access as of yet and not when it will be open. As far as I am concerned it should have been open access already.

I have already cancelled my LTE Rain. So I urgently need an internet connection for my studies. I guess I'll just go with TITC for the time being and see in a month or 2.

This will obviously mean I have to pay 2 connection/activation fees.
