Metrorail driver arrested after shooting robber

Train driver who shot dead robber thanks Prasa

Johannesburg - Train driver Joepie Joubert (59), who shot dead one of the four armed robbers who accosted him as he signed on duty in the early hours, on Friday thanked his employer the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) for supporting him.

It was the second time Joubert had been attacked while on duty. Apart from the trauma of being attacked by armed men and having to deal with the emotions of having shot someone dead, Joubert was also taken in for questioning by the police.

“This is a very difficult time for me and my family. Prasa assisted me to get counselling to help me to try and cope with the traumatic two attacks at the Kraaifontein Station,” Joubert said.

I always say, bring back the death penalty, but with public hangings (fekkers don't need to go out the easy way) let the other scum of the earth witness somebody spasm to death *****t!ng their pants in the process and then you watch the crime rate drop #justsaying

Yes. Put the power of death in the hands of the most competent legal system in the world where the poor and rich are equal.

I could agree with you if there wasn't the problem that way too many innocent people got already executed.

And its not the punishment for a crime that is the deterrent; its the rate of solved crimes.

As long as the rate of solved and convicted crimes is low it doesn't really matter if the punishment is a fine or if they going to break you on the wheel in public. ( The breaking wheel is probably one of the worst ways to execute someone )
