MI Digital dammit

Okay okay I know you guys probably heard this a million times before but seriously:(my xbox = RROD)

About 2 weeks ago I sent them my claim form and the day after that they phoned me with my auhto number. "Okay sweet" I thought. Now, on the claim form it states "Within 5 days that you recieved your autho number you should recieve your new Xbox, subject to stock availability. So I waited 5 days. Nothing. 9 days. Nothing. Now 2 weeks later(today) I phoned them to hear wtf is going on. Nooo they said, "we are still busy with the deliveries of JANUARY... You have got to be kidding me. I mean on the form it clearly states 5 days (and they have stock, I asked them that today too and they have plenty).

It's now March and they are still busy with the deliveries of January???:confused: - so at this rate (2 months for 1 months delivery) another TWO MONTHS for my xbox?? And thats not even the worst part. If stock runs out, they estimate that it would take another 3 months for stock to arrive. So lets say the stock runs out in the february orders, I'm gonna have wait over FIVE MONTHS for a new xbox!:mad:

Now people would say yeah take your xbox to a repairsperson, well I have my proof of purchase, so I want a new Xbox without having to pay anything. What do you guys think of this? What should I do?

That sucks man, don't think that there is much you can do though. You're right that you shouldn't have to take your xbox to a repair man. MS/ MI digital should shape up.

Yeah crazydude thats the sad part now isnt it. There is absolutely nothing I can do cept rant and wait! Would it helping sending them some hate-mail... probably not :(

They tend to reply to hello peter posts, but it's usaully just some pr crap about they have no stock and are doing all they can.

Microsoft Europe apparently is taking this very seriously. You need to call the Microsoft help-line and ask to speak to a manager.

They're not aware of the shafting MI Digital is giving all consumers in sunny SA. By definition, a swap out should be 5 days minimum ... 14 days max.

I wonder if there will be enough stock for February and March claimants :(

Yep!

That is what forum members on xbox-360 are being advised. If enough hell is raised, MI Digital will be forced to change their attitude or lose the lucrative contract they have.

5 days is a blanket Microsoft policy ... MI Digital are just taking chances with SA consumers that are used to crap service. If we don't raise a stink, these "distributors" will continue shoving us around.

Heck, my small business has a better turn-around time than these fools :mad:

And I offer repairs, not a swap out service :rolleyes:

Alright you guys guess what?

I phoned MI digital about 20 min ago... gues what no answer! So I decided ef this im calling Microsoft now. So I explained him my whole situation... the guy then asked me what is the company name, I said "MI Digital" as soon as I said that he went "Oh God not again (and some other words)".

Microsoft is totally aware of the problem with MI digital here in SA. The person asked me to tell you guys, everyone who is experiencing problems with MI digital should contact Microsoft and report it. They wanna sort this out so they need as many complaints as possible. And yeah once again USA vs. RSA - the Microsoft representitive was WAAAY more friendly and you could really her he wanted to help me. He actually said what MI are doing is in direct violation to what Microsoft tasked them to do.(deliver the new xbox within 5 days). So please guys report your probs to Microsoft!

Back when my 360 packed out last year, I attempted to go the MI Digital route... every time I called (over the span of 3weeks) they had no stock and had no idea when new stock was coming in. So i bought a new console, luckily before the price hike... I would still like to get the RROD'd unit replaced (currently its in its 2yr 5month of its 3 yr warranty), so i'll give MS a call

Yeah man, I totally agree with you, we are so used getting crap service all the time that we hardly notice it anymore... I really hope MI digital shapes up quickly, I confess that I really really really mis my Xbox :(

I just recieved an e-mail from Microsoft EU and in the email they state the reason for MI digital being so behind schedule in delivering their xbox's is because they had no stock for December and January claim's. So basically they are playing a game of catch-up.

Im still waiting for them to pick up the phone so i can order a replacement, if i cant get through by friday im gonna phone MS directly.
