Found mi link on the net, is it hype or legit
Vodacom and MTN charge R149.00 for a gig but mi link charges R29.00
This seems weird, either one is loosing out or the other is making a huge profit.

Doesn't look bad for a mtn reseller, almost R600 to get started. Speeds look like they're only using 3g not 3g+ on the supplied router.

what operating system is that, that they use on their modems?
Nice necro.

Looking at the device, it's clear that its a cheap Android phone that acts as a modem (which is why the "modem" supports only 8-10 device connections).

You can even see the camera on the top right corner of this "modem". So to answer your question, it probably runs Android.

When did 2 month old posts get considered necro material? Surely it's still current, albeit

In my own opinion, posts > 2 months are old. Imagine having a conversation with someone: "hey, remember that conversation we had 2 months ago". Probably not. :)
