Yeah, I saw that in their reviews.

Incredible Connection told me they can apparently cut custom size screen protectors. I don't know how good those will be but I literally just want my phone to not break the first time it drops.

I've had guys Takealot screen protector on from day one. Apart from the fact that it is too small, it is fine. It's not as if it's fallen off...

Have you dropped it all? For me the main concern with it not covering the entire screen is I worry if it fully protects the screen. My Huawei P7's screen protector had a loose corner and the last time it dropped it got a crack that stretched from that corner a little way in under the protector. Then again, if the protector on TakeAlot is good enough to protect it for the couple of weeks it takes to get a better cover imported, then that is fine too.

I've been hovering over that buy button on TakeAlot all day, wondering whether I should take the risk. It looks like an awesome phone, right up my alley.

I haven't dropped a phone for ages (touch wood) so I can't tell you how it performs when you do.

I wonder if this one is any good. I think my current screen protector is a Tuff Luv one and it's not half bad, other than the corner that is lifting (and is probably my fault). At this rate I reckon I might even buy the phone this weekend.

That takealot one is the one I have. My review is on there for that item (which currently says out of stock).

Also ordered a glass screen from Mi Africa. Still on the lookout for a good cover, but I see a couple of people on TakeAlot said they received a free cover from TA so I'll see if I score lucky too.

Yeah, I'm already dependent on it. I had to use my old phone this morning to do a factory reset and it felt like I had to squint to read the screen. And it's not even as if the P7 was a small phone.

I had my doubts about the battery life. But so far I'm still managing a full day of heavy use between charges. I usually give it a bit of a recharge around 50% just to be sure. This is usually around 3 or 4pm (and I start just after 5am)

I'm not an exceptionally heavy user, just the odd whatsapp or facebook message here or there during the day and mine has used a grand total of 28% since I took it off charge yesterday morning at 7AM.

I'm not too phased. I'm usually behind the curve with my phones. My P7 I also got when the P8 was just about to drop.

I think someone here did mention a few days ago that they're about to announce the Mi Max 2. If it wasn't for the fact that my previous phone was on the way out I would probably have waited a couple of months.

The specs seem pretty similar? Bigger battery on the 2, faster processor. Anything else cool?

Unfortunately not. But better speakers, build quality, more ram, decent camera (same one as in the mi6 iirc), usb type C and 64GB base model.
