Mic or Skype or Win7 problem

not sure where to post this...

for the life of me I cant get my mic working with this new motherboard

when I tap the mic I can the see level going up and down on the windows box (left) but in the skype box nothing happens!

Ive tried adjusting all the levels, but eventually I just reset everything back to default! I even tried changed the default device to the front mic socket, but same story... Windows picks it up, and I can speak to hear myself through windows, but nothing through skype...

please help?

In Skype Audio Settings - if you click on the arrow pointing down to the right of "Microphone" a menu with all your sound interfaces will appear. Select the interface that your mic is plugged into then save your settings.

Also there is a new version of Skype out with a new "Check Settings" feature maybe it a good idea to DL that. GL
