Maybe you mean carbon dioxide, but then again maybe you don't - know the diffs? I s'pose you're part of the loopy crowd that love to ban natural compounds that are essential to life on earth. Without CO2, life on earth ends. Plants depend on it, and thence pretty much everything else. It's no more a pollutant that water, despite what the EPA says.

Oh, and if you think human CO2 production has any effect on the planet/climate, bear in mind that one little eruption like Mt Pinatubo spews out more CO2 and other 'bad stuff' in 3 months than the entire human production in all of history.

I've just come across this :

Could this explain some of Michele Bachmann’s bizarre behavior? According to three people who have worked closely with Bachmann, the presidential candidate suffers from “debilitating” migraine headaches on a weekly basis that can “incapacitate” her for days.

Not only that, but allegedly she is constantly medicated to try to prevent them.

The migraines are so bad and so intense, she carries and takes all sorts of pills. Prevention pills. Pills during the migraine. Pills after the migraine, to keep them under control. She has to take these pills wherever she goes.

The headaches are so severe and so frequent they have put her in the hospital more than once.

A spokeswoman for Bachmann refused to talk about the candidate’s medical history.

UPDATE: Bachmann admits that she suffers from migraines but claims that it would not affect her job performance as president. Refuses to answer whether she was ever hospitalized for migraines. And today her aides “roughed up” a reporter for ABC News when he dashed after her with a camera and attempted to ask her if she had ever missed any votes in the House because of headaches.

I'm not defending Bachman, of whom I know very little. The statements quoted as examples of what is obviously idiotic are not on the face of it ludicrous.

Still no answers, just requotes, as if their silliness is self-explanatory. It isn't.

1. "Not all cultures are equal, not all values are equal ... France had a beautiful culture – the French culture is actually diminished, it's going away." November 2005 during her first run for Congress.

The ellipses are disingenuous. Does anyone here actually believe that all cultures are equal? Then how account for the vast differences in development? If you don't think cultural inequality is part of the explanation, would you care to explain why, especially since anthropologists and sociologists generally believe thus? As to the French cultural decline, do you want a quote from leftwing/socialist French academics and philosophers saying the same thing?

2. "I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out: Are they pro-America or anti-America?" October 2008.

This use of "American" is called synecdoche. Do you want quotes from Democrats calling certain Republicans anti-American? This is a legitmate and constantly recurring theme in American partisan politics, from both sides of the House.

3. "Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas." April 2009.

This is true in the sense in which she means it, and patently clear from the context in from which this is culled. CO2. Some enviro-activists want to ban CO2 and have it classified as a pollutant. However, it is a natural gas essential for many planetary systems. Like water. Did you know that water can also cause damage? But the problem is not water qua water. Simili modo CO2.

4. "I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out under another, then under another Democrat president, Jimmy Carter. I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence." April 2009

What's the problem with this, especially given her immmediate clarification that she's not blaming BHO? Given the context, what is indeed interesting is both Carter and Obama head administrations that constantly ring alarm bells about impending disasters and epidemics, and use these to drive their own political agendas.

I'm with Freud and the consensus of psychologists (a la DSM III) before the homosexual political agenda got traction. Biologists have some pretty hardcore views on the reason why sex exists. Want some quotes from people struggling with sexual identity disorders and/or sexual dysfunction? Taking them at their word, our compassion is indeed appropriate.
