I have had successes with anything with a Ralink chipset but the security lockdown on Mojave is something I cannot comment on (won't upgrade because of that and that it breaks several of my softwares and they do not need the upgrade and subsequent price tag).
Does anyone know of a compatible micro/nano USB wifi adapter for Mac? Tried a D-Link DWA-131 without success.
Eish. Thanks. Very little info on getting them working with Mojave. Apparently the El Capitan drivers are able to work on Sierra which would be the latest OS.
What do you want to do with it? (that the built-in is not)
is this a macbook or mac/imac?
I thought by "airport card" he might have just meant the Wi-Fi adapter, not actual pci-e card.

MacBook Air. By AirPort card I mean the WiFi card that slots in on the motherboard. In System Info its called an AirPort Card.
Damn - you learn something new every day.

There's a micro usb on amazon that is claimed to work with Mojave. I have the link at work - will share tomorrow (if I remember that and my Cure tickets).
Oh I see on the Air it is still a card.
Would be easier to just buy a new one, depending on exact model.

But I still maintain it should be fixable.
Card went faulty and reinstallation hasnt helped. Ive arranged a spare card to test with which will show if its the current card or the slot thats at fault. Hoping the spare card works.
So far I've tried;
Alfa AWUS036H
Alfa AWUS036NH
TPLink Micro UDB (RTL8188CU)
No-name-Brand Realtek RTL8192
None of them work on my Macbook. Drivers from Realtek are horribly bad too, installs messy and argh.
