My friend recently built a new PC. The motherboard does not have built-in WiFi or Bluetooth but he is looking to get a PCIe x1 WiFi card. The problem is that it is an mATX motherboard and the GPU pretty much blocks the PCIe x1 slot. It is more or less just accessible, but anything that will protrude to far out from the slot will clash with the GPU.
I was thinking that a PCIe x1 riser cable might do the trick if the cable can bend underneath the GPU. I've also seen some 90 degree PCIe 1x riser cables that might be perfect as the cable immediately bends downwards.
The problem is that when searching for these riser cable, pretty much all the stock is from Temu. I cannot seem to find any local availability that will not take an age to ship. Is anyone aware of a place where I can try and source these locally? Or should he try an alternative solution like an external WiFi adapter that connects via a USB cable?
