I recently got a wifi router and I have been trying to use an old mecer usb wifi dongle for internet access (atheros chipset) on windows 7 x64.
Bottom line is that either windows 7 doesn't like the dongle or the dongle is slowly breaking
(note I had to download non manufacturer supplied drivers for x64)
The lights on the dongle are not flashing as they should be, they are sporatic, sometimes the power led lights up sometimes not and I keep losing connection every few minutes then I cant even ping the router.
So can anyone recommend a good cost efficient wifi adapter that is 100% windows 7 compatible
