The way I understand it is that if your console fails with the 3 red flashing lights your console will be fixed (within 3 years). If however your DVD player (for example) breaks and not the 3 flashing red lights error it will only fall within the 1 year warranty and you would need to pay for the repair.
Yawn...anybody want some candy?
I love it when people have a dig @ MS... kinda reminds me the reason I have so much fun on the X360 for over a year now.![]()
Nobody is disputing that the 360 is a great console, but knowing that EVERY console has a flaw will put some people off buying it. What if your console lasts for 3 years and then breaks?
Then it has lived its full price tag's capabilities. Tell of any PC hardware that you havent replaced in 3 years? Can you imagine the stress those components have gone through for all the games one plays in that time! It would actually be incredible to see them last that long without issues considering the way games push the hardware.
Besides, by the 3 years time the X360 would still be 50% cheaper than the PS3.![]()
My controllers are still working despite years of use, but my console's laser is fading. I'd like to kill somebody at Sony for stopping production of the laser for older models. Not really. My PS2 is still going strong after all these years. Thats how it's supposed to be.
I expect something that price to last a lot longer than that. I don't see why I should have to ever replace it. I have PCs that have been operational for years. They're generally running processor intensive work most of the time. The only two components I find need replacement are optical drives and less often hard drives. I'd expect the optical drive in the 360 to die sooner or later. I don't mind as long as the repair cost is reasonable. Then it has lived its full price tag's capabilities. Tell of any PC hardware that you havent replaced in 3 years?

No seriously. Nothing wrong with Windows (XP or Vista), some people just just prefer Linux and that's a personal choice.Windoze
