Microsoft and open source

I live and work in OpenSource. I contribute and consume.

Thats the sweetest thing I ever heard... makes me want to go hug a bunny.

I myself play with the grown ups in a multi million dollar company. We cant afford to cock around playing hippies. While you are busy contributing and consuming, we are taking the money out your pocket. And you so dumb you thank us for it.

Huh?

If you think M$ licensing is insane you should really consider a small database company that goes by the name of Oracle :p

If this is the general attitude of employees of your "multi million dollar company" I'm sure you guys will be in line for a government bailout soon.

95% of our clients are JSE (not Alt-X.) Try talking without your mouth full of bull for a change.

Pretty sure I never said anything about your customers.
Speaking of which, do they know you are illiterate?

PS: So far nothing I have said is bull.

Nice... attack the man not the subject.

Actually it is quite on topic.
You see he seems to have this inability to read something for what it is, and instead tries to infer his own perception of what was written.

I stated quite clearly that ultimately the end consumer pays for these free thing, else the business model would not work, and he states "Well the still free" I.E. Completely missing the point.

Secondly I never mentioned anything about his customers, then he flies off the handle about them.

So I stated that do his customers know that he is so self consumed that he would not be able to see their perspective depsite laying it out quite clearly in writing.

Nope... not anytime soon.

Dunno why you people are taking offense, All I said was that your a hypocrite if you use Micosoft software but are anti-Microsoft.If that doesn't apply to you then you wouldn't get upset.End of story.

Makes me wonder how far into denial those people who did reply are then....

Couldnt agree with you more.
But you need to realise, on this forum is it cool to be an MS hater.
So even if you think their stuff is awesome and you use it every day, dont dare say anything good about it.

Slappy, I hope you are admiring Telkom's business model too. Let's not be hypocritical, I mean, they do make lots of money. Give them some credit.

Yes the world loves having free things, but it doesn't survive and run on "free things"

Comparing free hand outs to Professionally developed OS's and programs is just naive.

Yes Open Source is great, but open source wouldn't exist with out a proper product based software market to fall back on.

The saying Nothing comes for free comes to mind.

I might have been a tad apprehensive in my first post, it's just that I see so many hypocritical sentiments and attitudes among a section of the software development community that lambaste Microsoft in favour of Open source endeavours, while they freely use multiple microsoft based products themselves.
Give credit where credit is due.

Rubbish, have you ever heard of Lamp servers and Joomla. Many professional organisations run them. In fact Lamp servers have the majority market share, while open source tools like Joomla, Moodle (education) etc... are very popular.

I suggest you engage brain before hands.

Again cr@p. I'm forced to pay use the roads provided by the ANC government even though I think their goverment is cr@p. That doesn't make me hypocritical.

Joy-energiser, please think your argument through.

You are the moron. We were talking about how the world always want free things FREE things, not the OSS business model. Here are the facts, note the bold added by me:
Why is everyone so anti Microsoft ? Its pathetic how people always want something for nothing. The ironic part is I bet all you "Anti-Microsoft" whiners probably use just as many Microsoft developed products as the next person.

Whats your excuse or reason for using MS products when you hate MS so much ?I would love to hear it!

So your comment here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showpost.php?p=3260170&postcount=37

was out of context to which I replied "it's still free" So... you were missing the point, not me. You're the idiot that infers things, not me.

Try growing a brain first.
