Microsoft launches new Surface devices

Microsoft has launched the latest generation of its Surface hardware, including the Surface Pro 9, Surface Laptop 5, and Surface Studio 2+.

It also announced a slew of new Microsoft Accessories and creator tools in Microsoft 365, Edge, and Bing.

While I'm here, gonna need a new laptop in the next 6/9 months.

Anyone has feedback on the recent Surface Pro? How does it fare compare to let's say a Macbook Pro, a top Asus, or a dell XPS?

Its uses the mobile chips. Intel U series. Have never owned one so can't say how it compares with the G7 series.

Maybe someone who has can give some input

The chip is really not that important for me as I only do office stuff and streaming so no gaming & co.

I just don't trust online reviews anymore, my two latest laptops have been absolute crap while being praised by reviewers all round and the few people I met who had the same one were unhappy too (and we speak of XPS13 almost full options and HP Elite).

I was unhappy with Apple prices in SA but ended up spending the same amount for something better on paper but actually not anywhere near the reliability of a Macbook (my previous one is from 2014 and now works better than the 2019 XPS...).

Tbh I'd look at a new macbook..

I have an xps and it's average at best. If youre dead set on a Windows machine then maybe a lenovo would be worthwhile looking at.

Exactly my opinion of the XPS.

It's fine but my battery is 100% dead after 3 years (barely lasts 10min) while my 8y Macbook which has been used way more still lasts 2h.

I think MacBook is the way, only flaw I had was with MS Word on Macbook, some colleagues have issues seeing revisions and comments so that's super annoying when your daily work involves comments and revisions. Hopefully, it's sorted.
