Hello

i want to know before i Sign up for the first time to Microsoft Azure, I want to know if the Joburg Servers are Available
:erm:

I don't have a confirmed date yet, but I do know they are already busy with the deployment of the Africa regions. They indicated going live in 2018 and Microsoft are already in the process to speak to certain clients around onboarding om a beta program.

Closest they've given is "later this year". Current lowest latency is to the West Europe region. If it's a startup business you could apply for BizSpark/BizSpark Plus and get quite a lot of free credits etc.

Microsoft BizSpark was a Microsoft program that provided support to software entrepreneurs.[1] Microsoft launched BizSpark One in 2009 as an enhanced service for selected startups.[1] The BizSpark program was discontinued on February 14th, 2018.

Oops that sucks. We must have been one of the last companies on it as our 3yr period ended last year.

We are also informed later this year and are set to migrate as soon as they are up.

The sooner the regions get here the better - more specifically when the Office 365 regions go live and we'll hopefully get our school migrated to the data center in Cape Town. Will just make the experience that much more snappier really. Our staff have forgotten what a little bit of patience is it seems lol

i am eager for Microsoft to have A Data centre in joburg. screw cape town

It's already confirmed it's going to be cape town and Johannesburg.

So it was stated that the Johannesburg and Capetown data centres would be up later this year. It is December 31 2018 and I don't see these data centres when creating resources on Azure.

Does anyone have an updated ETA?
