Microsoft cracking down on methods used to bypass Windows 11 hardware requirements

So just like PC's that meet the requirements? My laptop fan is on all the time, I have to restart weekly at least and the AV keeps hogging resources once a week as well.
buy another Laptop you pleb, after all those macbook people dont complain when Apple does the same thing.
I'm sticking with 10, till they literally rip it out of my hands

There are legitimate ways to end up with unsupported hardware by starting with supported. This will not have the desired effect and more people will stay on older versions or not do updates increasing the support burden. It would be better to remove the requirements and just disable components that require them.

Still running Windows 11 on a 2007-era Intel Core(TM)2 E4400 CPU & 4GB RAM - PC OS's have been upgraded as follows, over the years... ;)

Original OS - MS Windows XP

Upgraded OS's - MS Windows 7, 8.0, 8.1, 10 & currently on Windows 11 (Enterprise).

Bad news for people whose PCs can't run Windows 11

Microsoft has started cracking down on methods to bypass some of the hardware requirements for its Windows 11 operating system (OS).

The company has also issued a stern warning that those who have installed Windows 11 on unsupported PCs should roll back their updates urgently.

Even windows 10 is crap. It's just better than vista and 8 and 8.1.

I still need a whole whack of add-on programs like open-shell (which the new version of win11 broke functionality of ) and tons of registry hacks to turn it into an actually good, good-looking and easy to use OS.

But by win10 they had already screwed up the settings menus and options.

Windows 11 makes it a million times worse. Now you have the control panel options, the win10 options and now they also they took away so many useful options and replaced them with rubbish.

It's all a huge fking mess.

They also haven't let go of this stupid all-in-one OS for phone-tablet-pc nonsense which just makes everything crappier for everyone on all devices.

Jokes on them...I specially got my daughter an Intel MacBook so she could fail over to Windows 11 should the school be full of ****.

Hasn't used it once, which annoys me because it could have been an M-series instead.

Stipped using Widows wgen Vista came out. Was dual-booting before that. Been using various different linx distros ever since

You can run up to 23H2 on that CPU, but no tweaking will allow you to run 24H2 since it lacks the dependencies to do so.

“Devices that don’t meet these system requirements might malfunction due to compatibility or other issues. Additionally, these devices aren’t guaranteed to receive updates, including but not limited to security updates.”
...

Additionally, there may be an ever-present notification in the Settings app advising that system requirements are not met.

So, in other words, hardware security prompts because it does not support the necessary capabilities. Eh... For a PC that isn't exposed to external networks, it should be a non-issue, unless you are reckless.
