Microsoft cracking down on methods used to bypass Windows 11 hardware requirements

Like many I will not be upgrading anything I own to Win 11, so the only thing that will be upgraded is my work system and then only because IT will get its knickers in a knot if I don't.

buy another Laptop you pleb, after all those macbook people dont complain when Apple does the same thing.
I'm sticking with 10, till they literally rip it out of my hands
Software support for windows 10 isn't going to immediately stop, whoever stays behind will be just fine, nothing antivirus maybe later on a dedicated software firewall can't fix.... MS with their scare tactics. Irony is users have been ditching 11 to go back to 10.

It seems to be a MS trend...

XP great, vista sucked, windows 7 great, 8/8.1 sucked, windows 10 great, windows 11 sucks. I am skipping 11.....will get the next one after that....

With what has been going on with CPUs, and hardware in general, it is a piss poor time to upgrade to anything at the moment....

Not if you upgrade to Apple.

this is my sentiments exactly, if it aint broke dont fix it, MS keeps trying new stuff that breaks the stuff thats already there for no reason.

why doesn't MS just release something that works properly, and isnt a half baked mess,

and why do they use the public to test features out for them? dont they realize how disruptive it is for people to be using a feature and for it to be taken away?

I waited till the last month of windows 7 support before upgrading to 10. Windows 10 was matured enough at that point. Windows 11 still sucks even with the looming windows expiration date....

I would happily pay the $30 to extend the windows 10 support. It is still cheaper than 9k it would cost to upgrade to compatible hardware.

this, Apple is much much worse in many respects, Linux while cool is still behind in many aspects,
so your really only left with MS.
Android is catching up in that regard..... android based desktops isn't far behind...

Bliss, phoenix and prime....has grab my attention.

not a bad idea, but why all the scare tactics?, why cant MS realize people will wait up until they can
and then upgrade till they feel like they can,

or do they feel that they do enough already for legacy support to be able to say, upgrade or else.

if they move from apple to windows then yes, otherwise,
why the hell would you even do that?
I'm 90% on linux, Windows bugs me and I only use it for gaming. Once I can get Linux to use my other gaming browsers I'd probably switch entirely.

They can try, but people will just crack / bypass it again.
If a human can create it then another one can undo it.

How so? Your complaint was that Windows keeps changing stuff.

MacOS has worked and looked more or less the same for the past 15 years.

If you wanted consistency as you claimed then Apple has it in spades.

MacOS is the best of both worlds. It’s the best version of *nux that is actually consumer ready.
