Microsoft launches budget Surface Go tablet

Microsoft Corp. is going for the low-end of the personal computing market with a smaller, cheaper Surface Go tablet that takes on Apple Inc.’s cheapest iPads.

The Surface Go has a 10-inch screen, about the same size as the entry-level iPad. At $399, the device is $400 cheaper than the current Surface Pro tablet, but has slower Intel Corp. processors and about four hours less battery time, Microsoft said.

Should retail for 8K if it is ever officially available here

Given that the Surface range has never been available here, and probably won't be for a very long time... I doubt it will ever be locally available, but you can always import one.. and at 7K (give or take) import price, it might not be a bad deal.

For $400 (~R5600) you can get a entry level laptop ... so I will pass :)

Another person that can't Google. Perhaps you and Dave can figure it out.

Ok, so a simple request is seemingly impossible for you to answer.
I was on Googles Chromebook site, and the cheapest x86 Chromebook I could find has a MSRP of $499... since you seem to know there is one at $399 be a standup guy and link it for us then...
