Microsoft Teams Premium launched — with AI that can take your meeting notes

Microsoft has officially launched a subscription for its video conferencing platform that will give customers access to features powered by OpenAI's GPT-3.5 language model — Microsoft Teams Premium.

Teams Premium will offer features like intelligent recap, generating notes, tasks, and meeting highlights.

Is this going to be included in the E3/E5 enterprise licenses?

Unskilled resource? Need to look useful?
Call a meeting.

I am curious, does this GPT integration collect everything in the Teams meeting? Next you know, MS is listening in on your business activities... doing so, legally, to improve the product.

Already happened.

Already happened.

IMHO, I would be hesitant to share sensitive, 'non-disclosed', discussion points which may be collected. I am not talking about illegal things; I am talking about property in general. I am very certain that MS doesn’t expose themselves to data collection which may be exploited by their competitors.

Regardless, it is a pretty neat service. The question is, does your organisation need it?

Its a tough one these days because most if the services are collecting data whether you paid for them or not but it should be a concern for most companies that an AI capable organisation has more info about your company than you do.

It does a lot of what the typical PA does, makes the burden of admin lower, has exact transcriptions for legal purposes etc so more efficiency with less staff really.

“With intelligent recap in Teams Premium, you’ll get automatically generated meeting notes, recommended tasks, and personalised highlights to help you get the information most important to you, even if you miss the meeting,” said Microsoft’s vice president for Teams, Nicole Herskowitz.
That's so nice of Microsoft, thank you oh benevolent spying overlord, we will not complain about the transcript you get of all our company's most sensitive information.

My issue is more that in chats sometimes personal stuff is discussed here and there, e.g. waiting for rest of team to arrive we'll chat about the weekend.
You'd need to be able to curate it, or else it can only be used for truly "formal" meetings, e.g. department/company wide; going to be interesting.
