It's not a visual studio replacement at all.

The GUI is built with html5 & javascript, so the large parts are the language services needed to power intellisense etc.

It's not an Xcode replacement either.

But I like where this heading.

Played around with it and so far I like it. Haven't really worked with DTX projects before so will give that a go: json project file, cs files in folders and csc - now I can go hipster just like the js and go guys in coffee shops with my c#

Omnisharp sorts that out. Same stuff running in VSCode
