So I hear that microsoft will be releasing office 2010 in June in stores. When will it be released in this country?

I am planning to buy a laptop next month, but it seems like I have to delay purchasing it because I would like to also buy a 2010 version of microsoft office, and not the 2007 version.

Using 2003 at work. Can ask for an upgrade to 2007 I recently heard. Just so used to 2003 and I have customised the h3ll out of it so it is easy for me to use. But would interesting to see what's different in 2010.

My work email converted to Outlook 2007 over the weekend, but feels wierd swtiching from Office 2003 to Outlook 2007 all the time.

For us Office 2010 will still be miles away :(

Most versions of 2007 bought now can be upgraded to the equivalent version of 2010 for free... check when you decide to purchase.

I saw at the Dion Wired shop the other day that the Office 2007 box had a sticker that said you can buy it now and get Office 2010 for free when it arrives. Maybe that will help :)

Yip, you will get a free upgrade if you purchase a DSP license now....

Sounds like a good deal, so I guess I will buy a 2007 version when I purchase my laptop, and later on upgrade to 2010 (for free) when they arrive. I am currently using a 2007 version on my work pc, but 2003 on my (old) home pc.

Eish, the hefty price tag will put me right off. OpenOffice caters for all my needs.

Do people really need MS Office or do they buy it just because everyone else uses it?

it says 15 June on amazon.com. I dont know about dates yet in SA??

Can one still save micorsoft office 2010 documents to older formats such as 2003 etc as one can with office 2007? I love my office 2007, but as I am going to be buying a new laptop within the next 2 months, I might look at new software too.
