Microsoft office Issue

good day to all...

i have a issue with my Microsoft office 2003 & installation... i do a complete & fresh installation of microsoft office and after the installation is complete i restart the computer and log in again.. i open up word, excel or outlook and then a pop up windows installers starts up and installs and installs and installs what it installs i don't know.. i close office down and open it up again and that installation starts all over again.. what error is this... if someone can help me out please.....
 
Ii is assumed that by a 'fresh installation' you mean that all your old settings and customisation are no longer applicable? If so, then:

1. Do a proper and complete uninstall - use something like Revo uninstaller or similar to make sure you remove not only the program files but all the registry junk that goes with it.

2. Don't do the regular install, but rather select a Custom install; make sure that you select only those components that you need, e.g select Word, Excel and Outlook, but leave out Access, Powerpoint, etc. If you are uncertain about any part then leave it out at this stage, you can always add it later if needs be. Make especially sure that nothing concerned with .Net framework is installed at this stage (it is very cumbersome!)

3. If you still have trouble, go even further and install only one component, and see if that helps?

yes that's correct when i said about a fresh install where all the settings are no longer there..
however i have done the custom installation but i didn't remove the access part thou.. i done the complete install.. i will also try the one by one component.. thank you will keep you posted
 
On the Office there's a removal tool, its in one of the folders. I'll check the name when I get home and post it here.
 
hello to all...

just to give a update i'm still having this office issue..
i have removed office using the revo program and then went as far as installing one program by one.. and this windows install still pops up.. i also upgraded my windows installer to the latest one and it still doesn't work... any help will be greatly appreciated.. i don't want to take the step in formatting the machine but i can see that it's getting to that stage..

hello to all.. i would like to thank the users that have helped me out with this issue.. but nothing has worked..everything that i have tried did not solve this issue.. so i have no other solution in formatting this machine.. thank you once again
 
Try letting the installation complete, then once it has fully installed, you can uninstall it.

I had a similar problem with a clients pc's some time back, it was two pc's, came right with the one.

Try updating the Windows installer and see if it helps.

thank for the advise.. i have done all.. i think that if i can count how many times i've uninstalled office people are going to think that i'm mad.. i've got too much time... i used windows installer 4 and still didn't help hey.. but thank you very much
