What a disaster.

Forum a bit quiet today. All the IT guys unlucky enough to be exposed to Crowdstrike in full firefighting mode.

All my systems are on Azure, so far so good. no issues. This did make me schedule some time to re-look at disaster recovery procedures. Kind of complicates matters when your VMs can't boot, and the backup copies can't boot either.

1. Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment
2. Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory
3. Locate the file matching “C-00000291*.sys”, and delete it.
4. Boot the host normally.
