Microsoft PPTP VPN GRE tunnels ( error 619 ) IS/SAIX

Hello Everyone,

Is anyone else experiencing intermittent problems connecting to MS VPN GRE
One moment it works and not the next, on different networks, across both Microsoft and OpenSource platforms..

May 15 09:22:20 server pptpd[22452]: GRE: read(fd=7,buffer=6095a0,len=8260) from network failed: status = -1 error = Protocol not available

Something doesn't make sense.. is anyone else experiencing these problems?

I had a similiar issue to resolve on a firewall earlier.. Is Port 47 GRE enabled as a pass through on any firewalls between your start and end points?

Yep, this is with the firewall flushed and an external IP bound to the interface.

It's actually protocol 47, not port 47.
