Microsoft released a Linux Distro :-)

I have a lot of teams meetings and screen shares with Microsoft technical and presales folk. They all run Mac, hilarious.

Linux for the win.... Long term. Is this the year of the Linux desktop? :-) I see you will now be able to run Linux apps via win365 or something like that

year of the Linux desktop
:p

I actually recently moved over to Pop_OS. The latest version of Visual Studio broke a bunch of my workflow so decided to move to Linux + VScode.

It has everything I need and I can dual boot into Windows if I really need to play games but I have another PC for that (plus consoles).

Since the early 2000s they said linux would take over the world.20 years later and windows is still king on customer desktops and the enterprise.

Only desktop. Mobile, servers, iot, super computing, the cloud are all owned by Linux. I have been using Linux desktop at home exclusively for 20 years and it is very good I can tell you.

What machine do you use with Pop_OS? Do you have a System76?

They been saying that since I started using Linux back in 1996. Yet ignore the millions of Linux based phones (Android using Linux kernel) Servers, Network devices and all that sprung up in the shadows.

Thankfully Linux won the race where it matters ages ago. Whatever you use on the desktop Be it Mac, Windows or fav distro does not matter, this is not where the money is at.

Also to be honest when it comes to desktop end users I would also rather support a single standardized OS desktop than pick your flavor distro. Telephonic support would be a nightmare cause you 1st would need to know what Window manager someone use, then package manager and Kernel and so on, before you could even try and find the root of a problem, or say click here then type that.

Thanx but erm, no thanx.

They most probably dual boot to Win. I would. My new Win10 Dell is more temperamental it makes my 2011 MBP look like a champ.
