Microsoft releasing emergency patch

if they close all the backdoors how on earth are they going to spy on us - looking at stats a lot of people are giving M$ a miss

So many flaws in so many browsers, oh well at least they find them.

At least they are patching the holes.

Are they?

Half the patches are to stop holes CREATED by the last patch.

They are like a slapstick comedy where the one oke is using bits of canvas, handed to him by another oke, to repair a sail. And the second oke is busily cutting this "spare" canvas from the sail.

I just wish all banking sites would support FF or Opera. Then I could completely ditch IE.

My Ubuntu has downloaded so many updates/patches since installed it's not even funny. Linux is a fcking joke.

Indeed they are. They might stuff up a patch or two but they do get around to patching them.

Linux is hardly patch free either - my redhat and suse servers also download 100's of megs of patches. There's patches for FF/Opera etc etc - its not just a MS thing.

While I'm not pro MS (I think everyone should run Linux, but its just not there yet) when you have millions of machines running an OS you will lots of holes in it. MS are doing a semi-good job of patching them. By release a real bad patch they could potentially create the worlds largest DDoS attack killing millions of machines.

For a start. Update != patch.
Since you failed to understand that, the rest of the post is worthless.

What did I fail to understand? Every single time I boot into Ubuntu, there are patches and updates available. Oh wait, it's because it's a permanent beta project.

No because it's constantly evolving is more like it, sure its a hassle...but the patches most of the time are for the better....cant expect anything to be perfect out of the box (but if u pay 1k for an OS u expect something better than what one gets from M$)
