Microsoft says technology will spur economic growth

A top Microsoft official expressed hope Sunday that technology will spur economic growth around the world as the US software giant launches its latest operating system.

Anyway, I think that most people hope that just about anything would spur economic growth.

What technology? Flashy windows task bar and... how does this really help with production? Oh I forgot, lets relax some bugs, so that we can create jobs by patching machines when the next big virus hits them. Its all for the good of the economy.

The money you have fork out for their newest OS, would temporarily "spur economic" growth for retailers. But I think that is about it. After that, on the ISP's will have some growth when patches (and service packs) gets released.
