Microsoft Security Essentials nails Chrome

Microsoft raced Friday to fix an anti-virus program that targeted Google’s Chrome browsing software as a malicious threat and kicked it off computers.

Re-install chrome

In my case, I was asked if I want to clean my system by MSE, I politely said no. I then had to make a copy of my chrome.exe since some hidden permission was taken away from the original exe. Some renaming and deleting and everything back to normal and happily browsing with Chrome.

I was worried there for a moment when I thought I would have to use FF and IE, but luckily I was not destined for that punishment...

Reinstalling doesn't work, it's refused. Seems the fix is to install new virus definitions to MSE so let's see if that works.

How quick we are to forget the McAfee screwup that wanted to delete system files a few years back. And MS fixed the virus update in about 1/10th of the time it took McAfee to fix theirs.
