Microsoft showcases revamped Windows 10 design

Microsoft has teased a number of new features coming to the reworked interface of Windows 10.

In a video posted to Instagram, it delves into a number of current and upcoming features.

One of the big changes shown is a reduced emphasis on the Start Menu’s Live Tiles, which the company previewed during a Windows Insider webcast in early March.

I like it but many of those changes have already been systematically introduced which serves this more as a awareness campaign that Microsoft is making UX changes to Windows 10.

Moved to Linux and Raspbian thanks.
Yep. For a good few years I was a happy chappy on Linux Mint. Whole house was MS-Free. Mint, Kodi, Raspberry Pi. Then DSTV Now stopped working on Linux. I was forced to run Windows to watch my F1 this year. Then came Corona, and now no F1, not even MotoGP. Suddenly Linux Mint is calling me back again. I can hear her......she's crying.......sadly......in the distance.....:(

Read it. Good for you. How does it feel being able to function without Windows? Actually, don't' care. Your call, you prefer Mint, that is nothing to do with the Windows UX changes.

Well you are still at large, so definitely not. I'm sure they made things even more sinister to try and find you Mr Wizard. #staystrong #stayvigilint
Should not be too hard.
How many houses with basements in SA with extraordinarily high tinfoil density ratio?

Can we afford a digital world that just refuses to mature or finalise, even for a relative short period, like 15 years-?

I'm actually quite liking windows again. It was early versions of 10 that drove me nuts. It has definitely improved a lot.

Personal preference, if I could I'd go back to Windows 8.1, just felt smoother overall. Latest Windows 10 build is a little slow for me, but a reinstall might fix that.

You couldn't be further from the truth, actually.
10 is far "lighter" in all senses. Device drivers, monitoring tools, all far improved and plug n play 99%.
It flies compared to 7, which is a mem hog in comparison...

As an example 7 took up a good chunk of 4GB on this T420...on 10 is uses less than 2 on startup.
As for 8 I skipped that whole fiasco.

Of course if you have no idea how to streamline/configure and optimize an o/s then anything goes...an SDD/extra RAM/ disabling non crucial services, etc, etc etc

Windows 7 isn't the benchmark to me, upgrading from 7 to 8 I noticed the performance increases. 8.1 to 10 was still ok, but with time my PC slowed down, which is normal.

As for streamlining Windows, why? Surely if I didn't have to do that on Windows 8.1 I shouldn't have to do it on Windows 10?
