Microsoft shows off new, larger Surface Pro tablet

sounds good, so guess looking at region of about R12K for the i3? if so it will compare well with current 64Gb Win8 Pro tablet from Samsung, Dell and Fujitsu?
so.... is it gonna be available to us here in ZA, or MS continue to limit availability and then moan about poor sales?
still.... lotta munny for a tablet... even though a good looking, strong performing tablet... but then again, its probly not aimed at iPad and other tablets, but more towards Macbook Air and ultrabooks?

also consider you going to have to fork out another $130 for the type cover

LOL at the event video.... a Microsoft event.... everywhere you look, you see people with Macbooks , apple icon lighting up all over :)

Still, there's no denying the impact of Apple products...
but MS still can't really compare with Apple for live events unveiling new products..... i guess MS prefers small press groups for unveiling, where Apple really goes big with developers and public attending.
Lets hope this thing comes here soon too.

Eish. My Surface Pro 2 is barely two months old. Until two weeks ago, all the pundits were forecasting only a Surface Mini at around 8". Now this. Wonder what I'll get locally for a barely used SP2...

Arthur forget your Microsoft loyalty. Get a superior engineered Japanese product. The best would be one of the new Panasonic ultrabooks - since they're assembled in Osaka. But the NEC LaVie Z is also a beautiful piece of engineering.

Will you accept R2.5k? No? Well, I had to try, you know.

Geez, now those are decent specs !
My Surface Pro 2 has not let me down yet, can handle anything I throw at it.

Microsoft SA, please wake up and provide these locally.

No one gives a hoot about live events. What's important is the product itself.
true true ... just interesting to watch always :)
Apple's marketing has always been big... i guess a big part of their success is the marketing.
we dont see much MS marketing here in ZA... but on Netflix/Hulu, i see MS advertising quite a bit in US.

we recently got one of our biotek guys one of these Panasonic W8 toughpads.
http://www.panasonic.com/business/toughpad/us/windows-tablet-fz-g1.asp
cool price of about R30K each (for the i5, ... non-3G version!) :( now THAT is a wicked price for a tablet!
but the guy swears by it... goes into the greenhouse heat/humidity, lab, long battery, tough etc etc, where other tablets quickly go vrot.
i would also luv one of these new Surface 3's even if its the baby i3, so come on MS... remember all the users in ZA!

Do want!...

I really like this idea.... Now just to find out how it handles multiple monitors and I reckon I can try swing one of these at work.
