Microsoft sold over eight million Kinect controllers

Microsoft sold more than eight million gesture-sensing Kinect controllers for Xbox 360 videogame consoles in just two months, the technology titan's chief executive Steve Ballmer said Wednesday.

Even your normal x10 Dollar exchange rate would be nice, but I'd be hard pressed to justify the R1999 price-tag locally... It's just too much for a gaming accessory.

would like to find out what the retailers' mark up is on the product
maybe its a lot , maybe its a small amount?

its just a pity that Microsoft's kinetic games are not up to standard with the machines capabilities. Would love to see better gaming titles , stuff that "actually" works with kinetic. Although I must say using it for movies and entertainment browsing is pretty awesome.

ps3 move is R600 minimum - camera and wand

Got the move the other day, it is really an awesome idea, there just isn't enough games for it yet, although killzone will be move capable so imo, it is worth the buy! Sorry for going off topic

The Move is nowhere near the Kinect in terms of technology and usefulness...

I think they are too different to compare. Kinect needs buttons so it won't be for hardcore gamers whereas the move has buttons, you really do need buttons. I agree the kinect is great piece of technology, however for gaming, not so useful!
