Microsoft testing new Internet search engine

Microsoft confirmed it is testing a new Internet search engine it hopes will power the US software giant out of distant third place in a market dominated by Google.

even if they can provide better results than google, google has become so associated with search, that I don't think they can be dethroned. I mean to google is a verb these days...just kumo it doesn't have the same ring to it

Well we do see a lot of advertising happening from MSN and Google. It used to be Yahoo in the movies, now I constantly see Google. One hint of Microsoft in "The Island". Good riddance they sucked then.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the so called "google engineers" that claimed to create a better search engine than Google was bought by Microsoft.

... and is this new engine going to be slower than their existing engine? Because, after all, "additional overhead" can will be expected and will affect overall performance ... much like Gazelle is expected to be slower than the already snail-paced IE8.
