Windows 11 Start menu changes

Microsoft has rolled out customisation options for the Start menu in a Windows 11 insiders update, according to a report from Softpedia News.

The company has returned to the approach initially introduced in Windows 10X, replacing the current Start menu layout with a static design.

“When a secondary monitor is connected, your clock and date will now also be displayed on the taskbars of the secondary monitor or monitors for glanceability,”
Ah at last! This was my biggest gripe thus far as a gamer (primary monitor running games).

I want to be able to reduce my task bar size to small as it was done in windows 10, I know you can do this via the registry, but why not just bring back the setting.

Not being able to deselect the "Combine Taskbar" feature is infuriating. So much more time wasted looking for open windows. Microsoft: but it looks nicer...

All I want is Never Combine Taskbar Buttons.

The option of a vertical taskbar would be a bonus.

Refuse to switch if I can't do vertical, quick-launch & not combining.
There is no better layout.

I don't have a problem with it, besides the locked taskbar, grouped taskbar icons, and the right-click in Explorer that makes me click again to find New Folder.

I don't have a problem either.
But, the missus is cursing me for doing the update :X3::ROFL:

I miss the show desktop context menu item, unless I just haven’t found it yet.
